Sunday - Ricks Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!! Sawadee Ka!!! Hi Everyone. I think we are getting into the swing of things now. After our 11 hours straight sleep last night we were awake early and hungry... Guess where we headed for Breakfast?????? Yep your right, Maccas!!!!!! Please go easy on us remembering nothing else opens here until at 10am. OK.... This is Thailand and not Australia and Maccas is not on for breakfast everyday. After brekky we walked the streets and had a look around to familiarise ourselves with Chiang Mai again. After about an hour it feels like we had only been here yesterday. It hasn't changed a bit since we were last here 18 months ago. We found a great massage place and Rick & I had a foot, head and shoulder massage and I also had a pedicure. The massage was badly needed especially with my neck and shoulders and my toenails are now a pretty, guess the colour?? Purple!!!!!!! How predictable!! Back to our room for an afternoon Nanny & Poppy snooze as per usual. managed to get a couple of hours shut eye and then hit the night bazaar markets and food court. It seems quiet in Chiang Mai and not many people especially tourists, good for us as we can barter for really good bargains. Could be the 'Walking Street' markets are on Saturday & Sunday at the Thapea Gate to the old city and everyone went there. We did manage to buy two really good backpacks on wheels for 2000 THB which is a bargain. So now we can wheel our backpacks instead of having to carry them especially with my shoulders and neck as sore as what they still are. We had dinner at the food court and of course walked down to Burger King for our ice cream sundae which has always been a ritual with us. Worn out we headed back to our place, no early night tonight. Tomorrow we are off to Doi Suthep Temple for our usual blessing and prayers and more shopping.... Catch you tomorrow!!!!!! Rick says to thank everyone who Facebooked him Birthday Wishes.
