Monday 4 April 2011

Monday Sawadee Ka! Well Rick and I are excited to be in Chiang Mai and Thailand once again, this is our 5th trip and never get sick of the place. We are both still very tired so are taking it easy and getting as much sleep and rest as we can. This morning we had breakfast, NO not Macca's and headed off to the Doi Suthep temple. Since arriving we have been trying to find the guy who took us up there last time we were here but no luck so we did the best we could to remember what we had to do in giving an offering and prayers. We had our blessing by the monk and gave our donation for the poor, took lots of photos (as usual) and spent the rest of the arvo, or what was left of it resting. Headed out for dinner and shopping early on in the night but just didn't have the energy to haggle so decided on an early to bed. Hopefully with all this sleep and rest this week we will find our get up and go when we arrive in Samui on Saturday for our two weeks there. We have picked a great time to come back to Thailand as the 13th 14th & 15th is Songkran Festival which is Thai New Year and apparently the Thai's go all out so we are looking forward to it. We will be in Samui for the festival. The weather here has been mild as April is the start of the Dry season so very little heat and humidity. It is very hazy and smokey over Chiang Mai apparently because the farmer burn their land in readiness for new crops to be planted. I have heaps of photos to upload which I will do in the next day or so, just being a slacker at the moment. Until tomorrow!!!
