Friday - 8 April 2011 - Last Day in Chiang Mai

Sawadee Ka! Well how quick our first week gone! I can't believe we are leaving Chiang Mai at lunchtime tomorrow. Once again I don't want to leave, happens everytime we come here, sad, sad, sad... Today was an easy day, breakfast at Macca's (porridge of course!) and then walked the streets looking for a couple more items as last minute gifts for the family. That done we walked to the Mae Ping Post Office to post it off. What an adventure! We asked for 2 boxes as it had to go to 2 separate addresses in Queensland, Australia of course when they can't understand english they just laugh at you and you get the opposite to what you asked for which is exactly what happened. We ended up with one huge box which the 2 lots of separate items went in together, addressed to the one address only and its then going economy air, which means what we have no idea. Cost us $3 bucks for the huge carton and $60 bucks to post it, all Rick and I could do was laugh , pay the money and wonder when it will find its way to Australia. Maybe the family will get it in time for xmas, who knows!!!!!! With that adventure over we headed back to our hotel to sort our packing out ready to leave tomorrow. A relaxing afternoon and then out for dinner at the Night Bazaar food court and it was packed with Backpackers. I hate to say it and never thought I would but had the most tasteless Thai food ever, can't say we were too impressed. We were pretty tired so headed back to our room. There was Muay Thai boxing on tonight in the carpark just across from our balcony, it was electric and noisy but we were so tired it wasn't going to stop us from sleeping. We booked Mr Chatree to drive us to the airport tomorrow and I really, really, really don't want to leave..... But Koh Samui here we come. So until then!!!!!!! La Kon
